What is community development?

In recent years, amid the progress of depopulation, a declining birthrate and an aging population, and the weakening of communities, local issues are becoming increasingly diverse and complex, such as "Can we protect and nurture the many cultures, history, and festivals that our ancestors have built up?" and "Can we maintain crime prevention and disaster prevention systems?", and more, and there are an increasing number of problems that cannot be solved by communities alone.

What is required now is for each and every person in the community to take a fresh look at these local issues, share them as "our problems and issues," and work together to solve them.
The idea is for local residents to go beyond the boundaries of their administrative districts and villages, come together with various local organizations, support each other, and cooperate with each other.
In other words, community development means taking proactive action with the awareness that "we create our community ourselves."

Promoting community development requires that each and every one of us work together with the local government.
